Anxieties And What To Do
What are you anxious about? What reoccurring anxieties do you confront as you seek to effectively live out your life?
We all face various hardships, challenges, stressors, and difficulties in our lives that can produce anxiety within us. This broken and fallen world has plenty of issues and subject matter to be anxious over.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians saying, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7, ESV).
According to Paul, the answer to anxiety in anything, is prayer in everything. Gratefully making our requests known unto God brings us God’s peace and provision in our anxiety.
Prayer is the pacifier for our anxiousness. Thankfulness is the remedy to anxiety. Petition is the placater of our anxiety. God’s peace is the place-taker of our anxiety.
Jesus Christ brings about purpose and peace in our anxieties, as we come to him with our anxieties, and as “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.”
May we bring all our anxieties to Jesus in prayer and supplication, and with thanksgiving, so that we may receive God’s unfathomable peace in our lives.

A Prayer For Trustfulness In Times Of Worry And Anxiety: “Most loving Father, you will us to give thanks for all things, to dread nothing but the loss of you, and to cast all our care on the One who cares for us. Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, and grant that no clouds of this mortal life may hide from us the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested unto us in your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (#80, Book Of Common Prayer, 2019).
