Do you ever long for the brokenness and sadness of this world to be made right again?

This life is not as it should be. This world is fallen and broken and sick. We need salvation and restoration in our lives and in this world.

After the Israelites rebelled against God and Jerusalem was destroyed and the people of God were punished in exile in a foreign land, God promised salvation and restoration. God promised to make everything right again.

God spoke through Prophet Zechariah, saying, “Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the Lord of hosts?” (Zechariah 8:4-6, ESV).

No matter how broken we are, no matter how broken the world around us is, no matter how disrupted, dire, and destitute our lives are, God will bring his salvation, his healing, his restoration, and his peace to our lives, to our land, and to our homes. God will make everything right again.

May we rest in the Lord trusting that he is making right all that is wrong, that we will all experience life to the fullest and once again “sit and play in the streets.”

In Christ alone, Robbie

A Prayer For Those Who Serve Others: “O Lord our heavenly Father, whose blessed Son came not to be served, but to serve: We ask you to bless all who, following in his steps, give themselves to the service of others especially those who are laboring in this time of plague; endue them with wisdom, patience, and courage, that they may strengthen the weak and raise up those who fall, and, being inspired by your love, may worthily minister to the suffering, the friendless, and the needy; for the sake of him who laid down his life for us, your Son our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.” (#45, Book Of Common Prayer, 2019)
