Faith, Hope, and Love
What are the parts of life that are of eternal value and significance? Are you investing your life—your time and your resources on the components of life that are eternally significant?
The Apostle Paul wrote, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
In his famous love chapter, 1 Corinthians 13, Paul stated that faith, hope and love have a lasting and eternal quality—“these three remain”.
Paul also emphasized that “the greatest of these is love”. Paul wrote, “Love never fails.”
When all the world around us fails us, and the people and the stuff of life lets us down, love will never fail us. And God will not fail us, because God is love.
When all else fails us and fades away, “these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
May we live into and live out of an eternal perspective—living out and focusing on the eternal aspects of life and on what remains—faith, hope and love.

A Collect For The Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, (Proper 14): “Almighty God, give us the increase of faith, hope, and love; and, that we may obtain what you have promised, make us love what you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
