Do you experience God’s Peace? Are you a person of peace?

Our God is a God of peace.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to be a people of peace.

In John’s gospel account, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27, NIV).

Jesus gives us his peace.

As followers of Jesus, we have been left with the peace of Jesus and we are to be people of peace in a troubled world.

There is a saying that goes, “No Jesus, no peace. Know Jesus, know peace.”

When we know Jesus, we know the peace of Jesus, and we can be people of peace who seek to live out God’s peace in the world.

The Apostle Peter wrote, “They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” (1 Peter 3:11, NIV).

May we know the God of peace and may we be a people of peace.

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NIV).

A Collect For Peace: “O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries, through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
