God the Author of Life
Who gives life and shapes life? Who is the author of life who forms the world and everything and everyone in it?
God is the author of life. God gives life and God shapes life for his glory and purposes.
The musician and King, David the Psalmist, wrote, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14, ESV).
We were made and God is our maker. Every detail of all created order has been designed and implemented by God who is the author of life.
God formed the intricacies of our inward systems while we were developing in our mother’s womb, and God has a purpose and a plan for the life he created.
We can praise and worship God for making us so beautifully and wonderfully.
May we seek to praise and worship God, the author of life, who has fearfully and wonderfully made us, and all the wonderful works our soul knows so well.
A Collect for the Renewal of Life: “O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
