God’s Children

How do we know we are God’s children? What difference does it make in our lives that we are children of God?

We are children of God, and can be confident that we are children of God, by believing in Jesus and receiving him.

The gospel of John tells us, “But to all who did receive him [Jesus], who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12, ESV).

Because we receive Jesus and believe in him, we have the right to become God’s children, with all the benefits and privileges that come along with being a part of the family of God.

May we believe Jesus, receive Jesus, and enjoy the blessings of being his children.

A Collect for Guidance: “Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
