Hope, Trials, and Prayer

Where does your hope come from? How do you endure trials? What role does prayer play in your life?

Hope helps us to keep going in anticipation of what God has in store for our future and is cause for joy.

The trials we encounter in life require patient endurance, stamina, and perseverance as we move forward.

The need for prayer in our life is constant as we converse with God concerning our relationship with him and with others, and concerning our circumstances and needs.

The Apostle Paul wrote the church in Rome, encouraging them, saying, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” (Romans 12:12, ESV).

God’s high call for our life includes rejoicing in the hope we have in him, patience in the trials of life, and constancy in our prayerful relationship with God.

May we experience great joy in the hope we have in Jesus as we are patient in our trials and constant in our prayers.

A Collect for Endurance: “Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
