Knowing Jesus Is Eternal Life
What is eternal life? How do we obtain eternal life? How do we know that we have eternal life?
We all desire to live fully, and to live as abundantly and as fully as we can—for as long as we can. We desire life. We desire to live fully into eternity.
In John’s Gospel, Jesus tells us “This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” (John 17:3, ESV).
We have eternal life by knowing God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Eternal life is ours in knowing God.
We have eternal life when we have God, and we can know we have eternal life by knowing God.
May we live fully through our relationship with God, and may we know eternal life as we know Jesus and live fully in him.

Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
