Our Refuge

Where do you find goodness? Where do you find refuge? Where is your security and shelter in times of trouble?

God promises that he sees us and knows us when we take refuge in him. God is good to us and is our stronghold when we take refuge in him.

The prophet Nahum spoke the words of God, saying, “The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.” (Nahum 1:7, ESV).

God is our refuge.

May we experience the goodness of God and God’s strength in our times of trouble, and may we take comfort that God knows those of us who take refuge in him.

A Collect for Sabbath Rest: “Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
