Salvation for Everyone

Why was Jesus born into this world? What was the purpose of God taking on human form and coming to live here among us?

Jesus came to bring salvation to everyone. Jesus was born into this world to save everyone.

Jesus took on human flesh to live a perfect life and to die a sinner’s death to bring life to all people through his sacrifice, resurrection, and ascension.

In Luke’s gospel account, an angel proclaimed to lowly and outcast shepherds, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11, ESV).

Jesus came so that we do not need to be afraid anymore.

Jesus came to usher in the good news of his presence and salvation.

Jesus came to bring great joy to all people.

Jesus came as the anointed one to bring his salvation for everyone.

May we receive the good news of Jesus’ salvation with great joy, and May we be encouraged that his salvation is for everyone.

A Collect for The Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ: Christmas Day: “Almighty God, you have given your only-begotten Son to take our nature upon him, and to be born this day of a pure virgin: Grant that we, who have been born again and made your children by adoption and grace, may daily be renewed by your Holy Spirit; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with you and the same Spirit be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
