See

What are you looking to for help? Where do you look for salvation? What are you seeing?

We see what we are looking to. However, not everything we look to and see can bring us the salvation we seek.

The Apostle John quotes Jesus in his gospel account as saying, “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40, ESV).

God’s will is for us to look upon his son and live. When we see Jesus and believe in him, we will have everlasting life. When we see Jesus and believe in him, we receive resurrection life in him.

May we look to Jesus, see him, and receive his salvation and everlasting life.

A Collect for the Eve of The Second Sunday in Lent: “Almighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities that may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
