Seeing the Signs
What do you see around you and in your life that confirms the reality of Jesus for you? What signs of Jesus’ divinity do you see in the world?
The truth of Jesus is evident in the Bible, in creation, in the church, and in the children of God.
In his gospel account, John wrote the purpose of his writing, saying, “Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:30-31, ESV).
The life we have in Jesus is clear evidence of who Jesus is. All four gospels tell the powerful accounts of Jesus’ divinity. John’s gospel account in particular tells of specific unique miracles of Jesus that only God can do.
If we are willing to see the signs, both the natural and special revelation of God, we will know Jesus, encounter Jesus, and experience Jesus firsthand in our lives.
May we see the signs of Jesus, follow him with our lives, and experience his saving power and inspiration as we live.
A Collect for the Wednesday of Easter Week: “O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in the fullness of his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
