The Company We Keep

What company do you keep? Are you like the people you invest your time with? Are you like the company you keep? Who are you becoming?

We become like those we spend time with, for better or for worse.

The wisdom of the Proverbs teaches us, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” (Proverbs 13:20, ESV).

When we spend time with the wise, we become wise.

When we spend time with the foolish, we play the fool and we suffer harm.

We are the company we keep.

May we be wise about the company we keep and invest our time wisely with people we want to be like.

A Prayer for Mission: “O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
