The Power For Salvation

What is the good news of God’s salvation? How much effort, strength, and power did it take for God to save us?

The gospel simply means good news. And what is this good news? The good news is that God’s power is enough to save us all from our brokenness—every one of us.

When we put our faith and trust in Jesus for his salvation—when we believe God for his rescue, it is the power of God for everyone’s salvation—both Jew or Greek—for everyone who believes.

The Apostle Paul wanted the church in Rome to be confident in the good news of Jesus and proud of the good news of Jesus who saves. Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16, ESV).

Paul wanted everyone to be aware of the power of God for the people of God. The good news is that God’s rescue plan of Jesus is for all nations of people who believe in him.

May we boldly receive the power of God for our salvation as we trust in Jesus—plugging into him though faith in what he has done.

A Collect For Strength To Await Christ’s Return: “O God our King, by the resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ on the first day of the week, you conquered sin, put death to flight, and gave us the hope of everlasting life: Redeem all our days by this victory; forgive our sins, banish our fears, make us bold to praise you and to do your will; and steel us to wait for the consummation of your kingdom on the last great Day; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
