Waiting in Strength and Courage

Where is God when you are not at your strongest and afraid? Do you wait for God when you are weak and fearful?

When we come to the end of our own strength and courage, it can be difficult to see how God is working. It is in these challenging and scary moments that we need to trust God and wait on God the most.

The Psalmist writes, “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!” (Psalm 31:24, ESV).

There is strength and courage in waiting on the Lord.

May we stand strong and courageously as we wait on God in trying times.

A Collect for the Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 19): “O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
