Whose Life

Whose life are you living? Are you living your life, are you living someone else’s life, or are you living Jesus’ life for you?

We can live life according to our own standard and design. We can live life according to other peoples standards and design. Or, we can live life according to God’s standard and design.

The Apostle Paul wrote the church in Galatia, saying, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20, ESV).

When we die to our own selves and live to Jesus, we get his life for us. Jesus lives in us and through us when we sacrifice our lives for the life God has for us.

When we die to self and live for God, “the life we now live in the flesh we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us.”

May we live the life of Jesus as we die to ourselves and live to Christ who lives in us.

A Collect for Resurrection Hope: “Lord God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ triumphed over the powers of death and prepared for us our place in the new Jerusalem: Grant that we, who have this day given thanks for his resurrection, may praise you in that City of which he is the light, and where he lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
