Your Work—God’s Work

Do you plan out your work? Are your plans God’s plans? Does your work reflect the work of God?

Our work matters to God. Our work honors God, and we can honor God by committing our work to him. When we commit our work to God, he establishes our plans along the way to accomplish this work according to his purposes.

The wisdom of the Proverbs tells us, “Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3, ESV).

When we work as unto God, he will establish our ways to accomplish what we set out to do for him.

May we see our work as God’s work as we labor for his purposes and experience God’s faithfulness in establishing our plans along the way.

A Collect for the Fourth Sunday in Lent: “Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
