A Good Word

When was the last time you received a good word from someone? How did this encouragement affect you?

A good word encourages and motivates us to move forward. Encouraging words can remove anxiety and heaviness in our lives, and allows us to shake depressive inertia and move forward in life.

The wisdom of the Proverbs tells us, “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”

(Proverbs 12:25, ESV).

If you are anchored by anxiety, may you be gladdened by God’s good words of promise and purpose.

God has a plan and purpose for you. No matter what you are experiencing or going through, you have got this and God has you. God is with you. You are not alone. Be encouraged. You have a hope and a future in Jesus. Nothing is wasted in God’s economy.

May you experience the light load of God’s peace and purpose as you trust in his good word, and as he makes you glad.

A Collect for Endurance: “Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
