Better Together
Do you have people who speak into your life with truth and love?
We need people who can help us see ourselves clearly and who can help us navigate life. We need people to help us to understand how we can be better. We need others to help hold us accountable and to seek reconciliation with God and others.
We cannot go about life on our own. We need other people. We are better together.
In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus spoke about addressing conflict and seeking understanding for the unity of his people. Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” (Matthew 18:20 ESV).
God is with us and is working with us in his presence when we are together. We need others and we need God to be with us.
We are better together and we are better when God is with us.
May we never go about life and reconciliation alone, but enjoy the fellowship and blessing of God’s presence with others by our side.
A Prayer for the Human Family: “O God, you made us in your own image, and you have redeemed us through your Son Jesus Christ: Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (#42., Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
