Bring Them to Jesus

If you could bring someone anywhere, where would you bring them, or who would you bring them to?

When the Apostle Andrew began to follow Jesus, after hearing John’s testimony of Jesus, he found his brother Simon Peter and brought him to Jesus the Messiah.

John’s Gospel account tells us, “He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (which means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, ‘You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas’ (which means Peter).” (John 1:40-42, ESV).

If it were not for Andrew, there would be no disciple named Simon Peter following Jesus. Like the Apostle Andrew, we are to bring people to Jesus so they can follow him too.

May we be followers of Jesus who invite others to follow by bringing them to Jesus.

A Collect for Guidance: “Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
