Confident Requests

How confident are you that God will answer your requests of him? When you make requests of God do you receive what you ask? Are you asking according to your desires or according to God’s will?

We can confidently make our requests known to God and trust that he will hear us and respond when we ask according to God’s will.

The Apostle John wrote, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.” (1 John 5:14, ESV).

God hears and answers the prayers of his children who ask according to his good will. We can pray to God with confidence knowing that he will hear us when we come to him with kingdom minded requests.

May we confidently come to God with our requests knowing that he hears our prayers.

A Collect for Evening: “O God, your unfailing providence sustains the world we live in and the life we live: Watch over those, both night and day, who work while others sleep, and grant that we may never forget that our common life depends upon each other’s toil; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
