Make it Better

How are you making it better? What are you doing about your concerns in this life to make it better for this world, to make it better for the people around you, and to make it better for yourself?

As followers of Jesus, we are called to make it better by encouraging one another to love and to good works. We are called to meet together for mutual encouragement.

The author of the Book of Hebrews wrote, “let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25, ESV).

We can make it better through our collective good works, through being together in fellowship and mission, and through our encouragement of one another.

May we make it better as we honor God and his word through how we live—as we stir up one another to love and good works in encouraging community as God’s church.

A Collect for Guidance: “Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
