Forgiveness, Mercy, and Help

When you fail to meet God’s standards and God’s best for life, how do you move forward? What do you do with your guilt? How do you seek God and find the restoration you need to go on?

We all fall short of God’s best for us. We fall short of God’s standards. We fall short of God’s holiness and God’s hopes for us. We miss the mark.

The Psalmist reminds us of God’s faithful promise, “As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103: 12, ESV).

God offers us forgiveness and the removal of our sin and guilt. There is no end and there is no limit to the forgiveness of God. Our God removes all wrong doing from us. God forgives our sin.

The author of Hebrews writes this encouragement, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16, ESV).

May we find the forgiveness, the mercy, and the help we need in Jesus.

In Christ alone, Robbie

A Prayer For Confession of Sin: Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and apart from your grace, there is no health in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us. Spare all those who confess their faults. Restore all those who are penitent, according to your promises declared to all people in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may now live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to the glory of your holy Name. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
