Godly Desire

What does your heart desire? Are your desires also God’s desires?

Desire is a good thing. Desire motivates us to dream big. Desire motivates us for impactful action and meaningful living.

The Psalmist wrote, “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4, ESV).

When we delight in God, our desires become God’s desires. When we delight in God, he meets us where we are and gives us our heart’s desire. Because our desires become God’s desires when we delight in him.

May we delight in God and find all our heart’s desires met in him.

A Collect for Grace: “O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day: Defend us by your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin nor run into any danger; and that, guided by your Spirit, we may do what is righteous in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
