God’s Creation Speaks Of God

What does creation say to you about God? Do you hear creation speak about God? Are you listening? What is creation saying to you?

All of creation speaks of the one who made it. Creation communicates the beauty of the creator. Creation speaks of God.

The Psalmist writes, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1).

"Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens... When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" (Psalm 8:1, 3-4).

God’s creation speaks of God’s glory. Creation proclaims God’s good work and magnifies God’s good name and God’s great glory.

We are humbled in the face of God’s glorious creative work; and yet, we are an essential part of it. God is mindful of all of creation and God thinks of us and cares for each of us.

God loves each of us so much that he made creation for us, and he made us and placed us in his beautiful creation, so that we might know and glorify God through all that he has made.

As the Apostle Paul wrote, “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." (Romans 1:20).

May we listen to what creation is saying to us about God, know God more intimately through what God has created, and enjoy listening to the beauty of God through all he has made, and may we glorify God along with all of creation.

A Prayer For Joy In God’s Creation: “O heavenly Father, you have filled the world with beauty: Open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works; that, rejoicing in your whole creation, we may learn to serve you with gladness; for the sake of him through whom all things were made, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (#21, Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
