Help is Coming

Where does your help come from? Where are you looking for the help you need?

We all need help at some point in our lives. It is possible to look for help in places where no help is coming.

The Psalmist writes, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2, ESV).

In this psalm of ascent, the Psalmist looked to the mountain of the Lord where God dwelt and expected God to give the help that was so desperately needed.

Where we look for help matters. Who we look to for help matters.

God desires to give us the help we need, if we would only look to him for the help he is offering.

May we look to God, the maker of heaven and earth, and find the help we so desperately need in our lives.

A Collect for Guidance: “Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
