Hope In Hardships

Where do you find hope in your hardships? When trouble comes your way, how do you find what you need to carry on another day?

We all face hardships and troubles in life. Difficulties, challenges, and losses are inevitable in a fallen world.

The Psalmist writes, “The LORD answer you in the day of trouble! The name of the God of Jacob protect you! May he send you help from the sanctuary, and give you support from Zion.” (Psalm 20:1-2, ESV).

We need God to hear us and to respond favorably to us in our troubles. We need God to protect us from further harm and to send us the help we need from his sanctuary. We need support from the solid rock foundation of God. We need God’s sanctuary.

There is hope in God in the face of our hardships.

As the Psalmist says, “I know that the LORD will help his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories by his right hand.” (Psalm 20:6, ESV).

May we find the hope and the help we need in our times of hardship. May we find hope and help in our God of hope and help.

In Christ alone, Robbie

“May he remember all your offerings, and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices. May he grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your plans. May we shout for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.” (Psalm 20:3-5, ESV).

A Prayer For All Sorts And Conditions Of Men: “O God, the creator and preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech thee for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to make thy ways known unto them, thy saving health unto all nations. More especially we pray for thy holy Church universal, that it may be so guided and governed by thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life. Finally, we commend to thy fatherly goodness all those who are in any ways afflicted or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; that it may please thee to comfort and relieve them according to their several necessities, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.” (#40, Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
