Giving The Good News

Do you enjoy hearing good news? Do you enjoy sharing good news with others?

Most everyone enjoys hearing good news, and we all need good news in our lives.

The word “evangelism” is simply sharing the good news of God’s grace and rescue through his Son Jesus, who loves the world and gave himself sacrificially to save the world.

This is the gospel—the good news of Jesus.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).

We are to rest in this good news of Jesus and experience the joy of sharing this good news of God’s love with others.

This is why the Prophet Isaiah said, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns.”’ (Isaiah 52:7, ESV).

May we receive the good news of Jesus, and share this good news of the love of God with everyone we meet. May we have beautiful feet as we bring the good news, as we publish God’s peace, as bring good news of happiness, and publish God’s salvation.

In Christ alone, Robbie

A Prayer For A Spirit Of Evangelism: “Almighty God our Savior, you desire that none should perish, and you have taught us through your Son that there is great joy in heaven over every sinner who repents: Grant that our hearts may ache for a lost and broken world. May your Holy Spirit work through our words, deeds, and prayers, that the lost may be found and the dead made alive, and that all your redeemed may rejoice around your throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (#20, Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
