Looking Above

What are you seeking? Where are you seeking life?

What we are looking for is of essential importance. Where we are looking is important as well.

The Apostle Paul wrote the Colossian church, saying, “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” (Colossians 3:1, ESV).

As followers of Jesus, the life we are seeking is above all else where Jesus is, because our lives are hidden with Jesus.

May we seek the things that are above where Jesus is seated with God the Father.

A Collect for Endurance: “Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
