Peacefully Resting

How do you know when you are truly at peace?

Often times when we are not at peace we loose sleep—we toss and turn in our sleep—we experience restless nights.

When we are at peace—we rest.

The Psalmist says, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8, NIV).

God causes us to experience his peace and rest as he allows us to live in safety.

Peace is in the very nature of our God of peace.

We can trust in God’s provision, protection, providence, and perfect peace.

When we welcome God’s presence, we receive God’s peace, and in peace we can lie down and rest in him.

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NIV).

May we rest peacefully in our God of peace.

In Christ alone, Robbie

A Collect For Peace: “O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries, through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
