Sharpen

How do you stay sharp? Who is sharpening you? Who are you helping to sharpen?

We cannot follow God on our own and we cannot do life on our own. We need one another to help one another stay sharp.

The wisdom of the Proverbs instructs us, saying, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17, ESV).

Each person can keep the other sharp. We need one another to stay sharp in faith and in life. A person who goes about faith and life alone, has a dull faith and a dull life.

May we stay sharp in our faith and in our life by being with others who sharpen us as we sharpen them.

A Collect for Mission: “Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the Cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
