Dying To

What are you living for? What are you dying to?

As followers of Jesus, we are living for God, and we are living for a greater purpose and call. We are also called to be dying to certain sinful things in our life.

The Apostle Paul wrote the Galatian church, instructing them, saying, “And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (Galatians 5:24, ESV).

As those who belong to Jesus, we are called to die to our sin and to our sinful desires. We do not live by our fleshly passions, desires, or appetites. We live to a higher call and purpose.

May we die to our selves and live for Jesus.

A Collect for Endurance: “Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
