Taken Away

What happens to your misdeeds when you take them to Jesus? What happens to sin that is brought to Jesus to take away?

When we take our sin to Jesus, he takes our sin away. All our misdeeds are taken away when we come to Jesus.

John’s gospel tells us when John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29, ESV).

There is nothing we have done, or left undone, that Jesus will not take away from us if we give these malicious mistakes and missteps to him.

May we experience Jesus as the perfect sacrifice, the precious Lamb of God, who takes away our sin and the sin of the world.

A Collect for Mission: “Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the Cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
