The Grace We Receive And The Grace We Give
How much grace have you received? How much grace do you need? How much grace have you shown to those around you?
We have all received grace from God. We all need grace. We can all extend grace to those around us who need the same grace we have received.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Church in Ephesus, saying, “In Jesus we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.” (Ephesians 1:7).
God has lavished us with the ultimate grace of his salvation through his sacrifice and the shedding of his own blood for us, through his redemption, and through his forgiveness.
Because of this extravagant grace of God, we all have plenty of grace to extend to those around us. As Paul also said, “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” (Ephesians 4:7).
Paul exhorted the church in Corinth to extend God’s grace to others in the same way they had received grace. Paul instructed, “As you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.” (2 Corinthians 8:7).
May we receive God’s grace and walk in the grace of God, and may we extend the grace of God to those around us as we live out grace filled and graceful lives in this world.

A Collect For Grace: “O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day: Defend us by your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin nor run into any danger; and that, guided by your Spirit, we may do what is righteous in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
