Unlikely Wisdom And Power
Where do you get the wisdom you need to navigate your life? Where do you get the motivation and power to act upon this wisdom to live from day to day?
We all need wisdom and power. We all need wisdom to find our way forward through life. We also need power to propel us forward in life as we make our way through.
It has been said that we need direction before propulsion. Wisdom for direction comes before our need for power to propel us through the path ahead of us.
The Apostle Paul wrote the church in Corinth, saying, “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Corinthians 1:25, ESV).
Paul addressed the church in Corinth concerning the wisdom the Greeks were seeking through knowledge and philosophy, and the power that the Jews were seeking through signs and wonders.
The Apostle Paul commended Jesus to the Corinthians as the full embodiment of both the wisdom of God and the power of God. Paul wrote, “To those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:24, ESV).
We need God’s wisdom and direction and we need God’s power to propel us forward. Both wisdom and power are found in Jesus.
May we seek and find the wisdom of God and the power of God in the person of Jesus.
In Christ alone, Robbie
A Collect For Guidance: “Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
