You on Purpose
Are you comforted in the fact that you were created on purpose? What did God have in mind when he made you? What purpose did God envision when he purposefully created you?
God formed each of us intentionally. We are no accident. God created us uniquely and on purpose. God formed us intricately out of his love for us and mission for our lives and for his kingdom.
The Psalmist writes, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14 ESV).
God’s creation is wonderful. We are fearfully and wonderfully crafted by our creator.
Deep down in our souls we understand the beauty of all of God’s creation, and we know we are made as a part of that beautiful and purposeful creation.
May we praise God for all that he has done, especially for making us on purpose and for purpose—recognizing God has “formed our inward parts and has knitted us together in our mother’s womb.”
A Prayer for the Second Sunday of Epiphany: “Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ’s glory, that he may be known, worshiped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
