All Things Working Together

What things are working together for good in your life? Are there aspects of your life that are not so good? Could even the “not so good things” be working together for good?

All things are not good, but all things do work together for good for those who love God and for those who are called according to God’s purposes.

The Apostle Paul wrote this encouragement to the believers in Rome, saying, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28, ESV).

When we love God and are called to his good purpose, all things work out for the good, even those things that do not seem good, as well as the things we do not understand.

May we love God and trust God to bring about his good in our lives, regardless of our circumstances.

A Collect for Sabbath Rest: “Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
