Be Reconciled
How will reconciliation happen between you and God? How will you be reconciled to God and the people around you? How will the world be reconciled to God?
Reconciliation is a deep need that we all have in our relationship with God, with others, and with the world around us.
We can try to reconciled with God and with others, but what we really need is to “be reconciled”. This is something God does. God has reconciled us to himself through his son Jesus. Through this reconciliation, God calls us into his ministry of reconciliation.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20, NIV).
God is all about us being reconciled to himself, our being reconciliation with others, and for us to be participators in his reconciliation of the world to himself through Jesus.
God does not count our sin against us, and he calls us to this same ministry of not counting others sins against them. God calls us into his ministry of reconciliation, which he has brought about and completed through Jesus.
May we be reconciled through Jesus, and may we be ministers of reconciliation in the world as God reconciles the whole world to himself.

A Collect For The Second Sunday of Easter: “Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
