Calling on God

Who do you call upon when you are in distress? How do you seek help when you are troubled and need rescue?

When we call on God, he hears us and answers our need.

The Psalmist writes, “In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.” (Psalm 18:6, ESV).

God hears us when we cry out to him in our time of need. When we need help, we can cry out to God.

God hears our needs from heaven and he answers us.

May we call upon God in our weariness and distress and receive the help we need as we cry out to him.

A Collect for Sabbath Rest: “Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
