Troubles Will Come And Go
What are the troubles and trails you are facing in your life? What is the extent of the troubles and trials that you are experiencing or have experienced in your life?
Living in a broken world brings us trouble.
Jesus encouraged his followers with these words in John’s Gospel, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, ESV).
Acknowledging trials and troubles, and Jesus’ victory over them, is the first step towards God’s peace in our lives.
When we recognize Jesus has overcome the world, we can face the world and have the encouragement to live for Jesus another day.
Troubles and trials are inevitable in this fallen world—on this side of eternity. However, we do not have to live in the paralysis of fear. We can take courage that God has overcome tribulation and we can persevere.
With God’s help and with God’s victory, we can live to face the troubles of another day.
This is why James wrote, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” (James 1:2-3, NLT).
May we take heart and be encouraged in the face of troubles and trials—knowing that Jesus has overcome the world, and may we count it all Joy when troubles of any kind come our way and consider it opportunity for great joy.

A Prayer For Aid Against Perils: “Lighten our darkness, we beseech you, O Lord; and by your great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night; for the love of your only Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
