What, or who, is capable of making right all your wrongs? What would it take for all your misdeeds, both known and unknown, to be made right, to be forgiven, and to go away?

The Apostle John wrote, “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 1:1-2, ESV).

When we fall into sin and become subject to evil and death, God in his infinite love and mercy intercedes on our behalf and offers himself up for us as a perfect sacrifice.

In Jesus, we have someone championing for us—someone who is offering us his righteousness for our rebellious deeds. Jesus is the appeasement for our sin against God. Jesus makes right all our wrongs—not only for us, but also for the sins of all the world. Jesus is the perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sin of all the world.

May we come to Jesus with all our failure and receive God’s perfect sacrifice for our sin.

In Christ alone, Robbie

A Collect For The Third Sunday of Easter: “Almighty God, you gave your only Son to be for us both a sacrifice for sin and an example of godly living: Give us grace thankfully to receive his inestimable benefits, and daily to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
