Hope In God’s Word

Where do we look for encouragement and hope? What is the best resource to find the hope of God for our lives?

There is hope found in God’s word. We are blessed beyond measure to have the Bible, the written word of God, for us to seek and to find the hope God desires to give us.

The Psalmist writes of the hope found in the word of God when he says, “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.” (Psalm 130:5, ESV).

When we wait on God, and seek God’s word in our waiting, the hope of God abounds.

May we hold fast to the hope found in God’s word as we wait on the LORD.

A Prayer Before the Reading of Scripture: “Blessed Lord, who caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that by patience and the comfort of your Holy Word we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (#101., Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
