Renewal Of Life
Are you more comfortable with the old life, or are you more comfortable with a renewed life?
We are usually content with what we know. Most of the time we prefer what we are used to, what has always been, what we understand, and what we can predict.
We are less comfortable with the unknown and can even fear new things. We like our old life, because a new life, or a renewed life, can be unpredictable and can contain mystery beyond our own ability to understand or attain.
God spoke through the Prophet Isaiah, saying, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19).
If we are to ascertain a renewed life, we must release the former things of old.
God is doing something new in our lives and in our world. God is ushering in his Kingdom—on earth as it is in heaven.
God is bringing about renewal of life. God is making a way where there is no way. God is bringing about an oasis where there was once a barren and dry land.
May we release the old life and apprehend the renewal of life that God has in store for us.

A Collect For The Renewal Of Life: “O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
