Resurrection Hope

What hope do you have in the face of death? Do you have hope for life after death?

Because Jesus rose from the dead, followers of Jesus have resurrection hope in him. We are encouraged that death does not have the last word and we trust there is life after death.

The Apostle Paul encouraged the church in Rome, saying “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11, ESV).

As followers of Jesus, we have the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead living in us and he will raise us up and give life to our mortal bodies. We have resurrection hope in the face of death.

May we live full and hope-filled lives in the face of death knowing we follow our God of resurrection and life who will raise us up.

A Collect For Resurrection Hope: “Lord God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ triumphed over the powers of death and prepared for us our place in the new Jerusalem: Grant that we, who have this day given thanks for his resurrection, may praise you in that City of which he is the light, and where he lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
