The Community Of God
What community do you belong to? Who are your family members?
When we are led by the Spirit of God, as followers of Jesus, we are adopted as God’s children and we cry out "Abba! Father!” We belong to the family of God—the community of God. We belong in relationship with God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and with one another as his church—God’s community.
The Apostle Paul wrote the church in Rome, saying, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, "Abba! Father!’” (Romans 8:14-15, ESV).
God is in community with himself from the foundation of the world—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit leads us to the Father through the Son. Our relationship with God’s Son Jesus redeems us and makes this adoption possible so that we may join this community of God as his children.
May we join in with the community of God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as God’s children.

A Collect For Trinity Sunday: “Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us your servants grace, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
