Think Like Jesus

How do you know how to think? What kinds of things do you think about? Do you think critically? Do you think rightly?

Our minds are capable of much more than we realize. We use our minds more than we are aware of. And we are capable of using our minds more than we do.

As followers of Jesus who have been given the Spirit of God, we have the mind of Christ. Because we have the mind of Christ, we can think like Jesus.

The Apostle Paul instructed the church in Corinth with this wisdom, writing, “‘For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16, ESV).

Since we have the mind of Christ, we can think like Jesus. We can have the wisdom of Jesus. We can know the things of God. We can rightly discern and decide to do the righteous acts of God’s kingdom in the world. We can understand God.

As followers of Jesus who have the mind of Christ, may we know God and understand the things of God, and may we think like Jesus.

A Collect for Grace: “O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day: Defend us by your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin nor run into any danger; and that, guided by your Spirit, we may do what is righteous in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.” ” (Book of Common Prayer, 2019).
